Cautions for Use of AutoMedia Series Products:

1. Auto-CD-detector Function

The Auto-CD-detector function refers to the video & audio CD "plug & play" function and is also named as full-automatic playing function. Various versions of AutoMedia series products are designed with this function. If the user fails to implement this function, the reason may be that the configuration of the computer system has been modified. At this point, the solution is to reset the system as per the following steps:

a. Double-click the "My Computer"icon to pop up the "My Computer" dialog box;

b. Double-click the "Control Panel" icon there to pop up the "Control Panel" dialog box;

c. Double-click the "System" icon there to pop up the "System Attributes" dialog box;

d. Click the "Device Explorer" button - click the "+" before the "CD-ROM", a CD list will appear;

e. Click the icon for CD to select corresponding CD drive;

f. Click the "Attribute" button in that box and the "Attribute" box for that CD drive will appear;

g. Click the "Setup" button in it;

h. Check the "Automatically insert announcement";

i. Click the "OK" button in that box and the setup of the "Auto Insert Announcement" function is completed.

(The system will prompt the user to restart the computer to finalize the system setting. This function is proposed to be kept in the future.)

2. Manual Playing Function

The "Auto-CD-detector " function of each version of AutoMedia series product is automatically hidden. If the user does not want to use the "Auto-CD-detector " function, it is unnecessary for him or her to modify the system settings of Windows. The user can right-click the mouse on the "AutoMedia - Music Resort" icon and then click the "Auto-CD-detector" once to cancel this function and once more to recover this function.

No matter the user uses or does not use the "Auto-CD-detector" function, he or she can use the "Manual Playing" function to play video / audio programs on any CD or the hard disk. The way to do so is identical to the "Explorer" in Windows.

3. Continuous, Long-time & Real-time Recording function

V3.X or higher AutoMedia series products have the function for real-time recording. They can record long time of audio signals via various audio devices including microphones, TVs, telephones, radio station, tape player, recorder, VCD player and so on. They also can record audio information from CDs on the real-time basis. The recording steps are described as follows:

a. The user should purchase some "one-to-one" or "one-to-two" audio wires from the electronic market and then use these audio wires to connect the audio output ports of TVs, tape players, recorders, VCD players and other audio devices to the corresponding interface on the sound card of the computer.

b. The user should purchase suitable microphones and their connecting lines and use the lines to connect the microphones to the microphone port on the sound card of the computer;

c. The user uses the CD drive cable and the MODEM cable to connect the CD drive and the MODEM to the sound card. The two cables are commonly provided when you purchase the CD drive and MODEM; if not, you can ask the dealer to supply or buy them from the electronic market. Some manufacturer may have completed this connection;

d. Activate AutoMedia product and then press the "Sound Volume" button to pop up the "Playing Sound Volume Control" box, in which you can set up the sound volume attributes.

How do I set up the sound volume ?

1)Click the "Volume " button to pop out the "Volume Control" console;

2)Click the "Option" in the Sound Volume box and a menu will appear;

3)Click the "Attribute" item in the menu and the "attribute" box will appear;

4)Select the "Play" item in the Attribute box and select all or part of the Playing Sound Volume Control lists (commonly, microphone, CD, Line In and mixed sound should be selected);

5)Then select the "Record" button there and the "Playing Sound Volume Control" box will be changed as the "Recording Sound Volume Control" box;

6)In this box, the user can select the recording source (such as CD, Line In, MODEM, mixed sound and so on. Generally, it is ok to select the Mix) and adjust the recording volume (if there lacks of microphone or mixed sound volume adjustment slider, the user should go to the electronic market to purchase a sound card with microphone or mixed-sound function and install their drivers);

7)Then select the "OK" button below.

With the above configuration and settings, the user can adopt this product to implement the continuous, long-time and real-time microphone recording, CD recording, telephone recording, TV recording, VCD recording and other recording functions with other audio equipment and the real-time spot recording.

Before recording, the user only needs to press the "Start Recording" button. If the user uses Advanced Re-learner V4.X or Advanced Re-singer V6.X, he or she can have the automatic recording function by which he or she is able to study or practise Karaoke to produce him(her) own original-sound CDs easily.

If you want to record information automatically and as per the scheduled time, please choose Auto Studio V6.X.

If you wants to record for more than 6 months (over 4,000 hours) and even for 12 continuous months (over 9,000 hours), please choose Super Studio V7.X.

If you want to record phone conversation automatically from telephone, you can choose the special-purpose version - -Telegraphone.
